Measuring Heel Height

We measure our heel heights (in centimetres) by placing the heel on a flat surface and then measuring from the surface to the top of the heel

Leather Uppers

Leather uppers will benefit from regular cleaning and protecting with our range of protector sprays and creams. Conditioning your boots with oil and creams will help the leather resist cracking, flaking, fading or looking tired.

Suede / Nubuck Uppers

As soon as suede shoes have been brought home, they should be sprayed with a protector spray that is designed for suede shoes. Purchase a suede brush and routinely brush the dust and debris from shoes. A good habit to have is brushing down suede shoes immediately after they have been worn.

Heel Tips

Heel tips are a replaceable component which should not be allowed to wear down. Replace heel tips on a regular basis to prevent permanent damage to the heels. We do not recommend that you replace plastic heel tips with metal heel tips as this could alter the construction of the shoe.

Replacing Insoles

The insole of a shoe takes quite a bit of abuse, especially in flat and court shoes which are meant to be worn without socks. If replacing the insole is to help eliminate odors, first check to see if the insole is worn out. If it is not worn out, try sprinkling baking soda in the bottom of the shoe at night and then shaking or vacuuming it out in the morning.

Wet Weather Advice

Never dry wet shoes next to a radiator or any other source of heat: you'll crack the leather. Simply stuff them with newspaper or boot shapers and allow them to dry out naturally. If they are covered in mud, brush off when dry and then polish as normal.

Embellished Uppers

Embellished uppers are often adorned with hot stones or beaded details. Sometimes through wear and tear, these may become loose. Our customer services team can help to offer spare trims to neatly bring any embellishment back to lift.

Lovely looking trainers but sadly didn't understand that Porvair wasn't part of the name of the shoe and that it is the name that Moda use when the shoe isn't leather! My fault for not looking at the detail although it doesn't actually have a section that I can find that says what they are made of. Have kept them as entirely my fault and will be more careful in future but feel a little duped by Moda on this occasion!

Hugely disappointed with these shoes. Who knew I wonder, that the name 'Porvair' indicates that these shoes are in fact a synthetic material i.e. plastic! There is nowhere on the website to indicate this fact, and one is meant to assume that because they do not say that they are leather then they are plastic! I know of a friend who also purchased a 'Porvair' pair of shoes and sent them back, as I have also done, for the very same reason! Completely misleading and I hope that Moda in Pelle will address this issue. It is a shame as I actually own four pairs of lovely leather trainers from Moda in Pelle.

I was delighted when I opened them up, I didn’t realise that the loopholes were diamanté - BONUS!
They are slightly narrow for me but will be fab after a couple of wears I’m sure!
They are fantastic for the bling lover and great value in comparison to bog standard catalogue ones.

I haven’t had a chance to wear these shoes yet but they felt very comfortable when I tried them on. I was disappointed that when I received them, they had obviously been worn before as there was a slight dirty mark on the upper and the sole was marked. If it wasn’t for the cost to return, I would have probably returned and ordered a new pair.
