Is your wardrobe autumn ready?
We know, we know – autumn and winter are probably the last things on your mind right now. But, if you’re wanting to keep ahead of the game in terms of style, now is the optimum time to begin revamping your wardrobe.
Here at Moda, we’re always on the lookout for the next big trend. So, we’ve taken a look back over the catwalks of AW18/19 to sort the ‘hot’ from the ‘not’ and bring you our favourite trends of the new season.
So, exactly what should we be wearing throughout the autumn/winter months?
Animal print
Take a walk on the wild side this autumn and winter in eye-catching animal prints. From zebra and leopard to cow and alligator print, animal prints, in their various forms, were spotted all over the catwalks for AW18.
Make a fashion-forward statement this season by incorporating a fun animal print design into your footwear. The Bencia Dark Leopard heeled Chelsea boots, with their all-over leopard print design, are a great way to bring a sassy finishing touch to even the simplest of looks.
Metallic silver
Metallics have been big in the fashion world for quite some time now, and that doesn’t look to be changing for the autumn/winter period. This season, however, sees a move away from summer-ready golds and soft rose shades and allows festive silver tones to step into the spotlight.
From high shine metallics to embellished or sequinned clothing, if it’s silver, we want it. And that goes for our handbags too: step forward the Brandibag Silver Porvair. A handbag is the perfect understated way to rock the metallic trend, and this striking offering is sure to become your new autumn/winter go-to!
Autumnal shades
From mustards and browns to caramel and rusty orange, autumnal shades are proving a must this season. Taking inspiration from the 70s, this muted, retro colour palette is ideal for an understated look on cooler days and darker evenings.
So, you’re all prepared with your mustard jumper and camel coloured coat – but what footwear will complete the look? We think the Callio Tan Leather Chelsea boots are an absolute godsend. With their versatile deep tan shade and sophisticated design, these fashion-forward boots just scream ‘autumn’.
Florals
We all know florals are A Big Deal in spring and summer – but have you considered florals for autumn? Florals were actually huge across the AW18 catwalks, given a seasonal makeover with prints set against a darker, moodier colour palette.
Florals set on black, such as the Estellan Dark Floral Leather shoes, are ideal for nailing this surprising autumn trend. Simply pair with jeans and your favourite seasonal knitwear for an effortlessly on-trend look.
Cowboy boots
It wouldn’t be an autumn/winter post without a discussion of boots. And, if the AW18 catwalks are anything to go by, cowboy boots are the next big thing.
Whether you’re pairing them with jeans and a jumper for a low-key day-to-day look or a dress and tights for a feminine finish, the stunning Colett Taupe Suede cowboy boots are top of our ‘want’ list this season.
